A brief overview of the scientific and technical conference «Optical Materials and Components» is presented. It took place in the framework of the IX Congress of the Technology platform of the Russian Federation «PHOTONICS». The Congress accompanied the 15th Anniversary International Specialized Exhibition of Laser, Optical and Optoelectronic Technology «Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics‑2021». New installations, equipment, technologies, processes and materials were presented. A large number of experiments, original solutions, as well as professional collaborations and plans indicate an increased interest in the topic of optical materials.
