Mathematical Resources And Software For Light Sources Modeling
Conventional vacuum tubes before becoming devices that generate light, passed a difficult route from design to production. Meeting the requirements of lamp gas additives technology, annealing conditions of stock glass later responded by the created lamps quality. The contradictory nature of these requirements is the main driving force for developing modern lighting technologies that involves researchers to new and better materials search. The models and software developed to simulate the light sources, calculate their characteristics and production process conditions are discussed.

Laser World Of Photonics 40Th Anniversary Celebration In Munich
The global elite of the photonics industry gathered at the LASER World of PHOTONICS and Europe’s largest Photonics Congress, the World of Photonics Congress, in Munich from May 13 to 16 2013. The bottom line: more exhibitors than ever before, visitor numbers stable at a high level, a high number of product premieres and an insight into revolutionary technologies, such as 3D-printing, digital photonic production, medical technology or biophotonics.

Solid-State Lasers. Part 1
The history of the laser device remembers the difficulties of promoting coherent source of radio waves into the optical range. To overcome them required a transition to a completely new technology, it was necessary to organize the search for new materials with suitable energy bands for optical waves generation. Among the many generating materials, very few are actually used in laser devices. Others with very low-power characteristics are suitable only for demonstration of the laser effect. The review is based on the work carried out at the General Physics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Research Center of Laser Materials and Technologies of A.M.Prokhorov (GPI RAS RC LMT).

The Parameters Measurement Methods Of Frequency Stabilized Lasers
The most common methods of laser emission parameters measurement include, in particular, measurement of the beam spatial and energy characteristics. Measurement of frequency-stabilized laser characteristics requires development of a number of measurement apparatus and methods. Such characteristics include spectral-frequency characteristics. In this paper, we consider methods, which are used in industrial production.

A Little-Known Feature of Spectral Ratio Pyrometers
Spectral ratio pyrometers due to the components base advances have become cheaper, and now at an average they are half as much more expensive then conventional energy pyrometers with the same metrological characteristics. They are free from most of the energy pyrometers disadvantages. First, they do not need to enter the emissivity coefficient, and secondly they allow you to measure the temperature of small objects that are smaller then the pyrometer field of view at a selected distance. In the third place they allow to measure through glass practically without loss of accuracy, further the measurement result does not depend on the distance to the measuring object. But are they so perfect?

Pulse Laser Rangefinder Measurements Actuality
Peculiarities of pulse laser rangefinders operation at short, middle and long ranges are considered. The fundamental differences of these ranges are defined. Means of expansion of the measurement ranges scale, enhancement of measurement accuracy and reliability under the conditions of external interference and rangefinder characteristics spread are discussed.
