It Is Better To Put Efforts Coherently, Than Not Coherently
On April 25, 2012 at the Moscow state technical university of N.E. Bauman the Scientific and educational Center "Photonics and IR Technics" was opened. On a festive opening event of the Center there was a President of Russia. The Center will be one year old soon. How the Center was created and how it is developing, the director of SEC "Photonics and IR Technics" tells.

Волоконные лазеры в сварочном производстве
The laser is reliable working tool which usage volume grows in many sectors of the industry. The fact that such respected by professionals organization as the union of the chief welders chose "IRE-Polyus" for carrying out their outside session symposium testifies a huge respect for companies products and achieved high positions of fiber lasers in development of mechanical engineering industry. The enterprise created a complex system of tests of all equipment and the final products that provides high reliability.

Laser Systems And Technologies In Engineering Industry
Laser technologies have overstepped the walls of laboratories and gone out to the industrial space long ago. Metal treatment with the high-power lasers has turned into the standard process. And now the treatment of materials with the less powerful laser beam also turns into the standard technologies. But there are niches where the effects of interaction of the laser radiation with substance are still at the research stage. And though there are many laser technologies, authors decided to consider those technologies in which the developers from our country achieved certain success.

Does The Low-Intensity Laser Radiation Have Mutagenic Effect?
Year after year the human environment becomes increasingly aggressive. As a result the biosphere is affected by the low-intensity coherent radiation. Does this radiation have mutagenic effect, and if yes then what environmental consequences might occur? There are directly opposite points of view on this matter which were actively discussed at recent conferences on lasers application. Taking into account not only the scientific but also social importance of this issue it is reasonable to carry out its broad debate. This article can be considered as the invitation to the discussion on the pages of Photonics journal.
Optical measurements

Review Of Modern Angle Measuring Technique
High level of optical technologies is achievable only in that case when the manufacturer of optical details precisely observes engineering requirements. This task will be not completed without corresponding metrological supervision of angular measurements. Improvement of accuracy of angular measurements has revealed serious manufacturers’ needs in high-precision digital measuring instruments of an angle. In the article there is the comparative analysis of goniometer models presented on the domestic market.

Laser Sounding Equation For Real Aerosol Lidar
When remote sensing the gas molecules and aerosol in the atmosphere the lidar equation for the infinitely narrow lasing line is used. But real lasers generate radiations on the wave length of finite width. At the distances of sensing from 2 km to 5 km the increase of lasing line width gives the decrease of power of the elastic backward scattering. It is confirmed by the obtained results of two variants of solution of the lidar equation for the elastic single type scattering.

Day/Night Synthetic Vision System For Helicopters
The article presents new optoelectronic panoramic surveillance system for helicopter-borne systems. KOS-17 system structure, functions and design are considered in respect to being upgraded Mi-171A2 helicopter. It is mentioned that KOS-17 system as a helicopter avionics functional subsystem includes three television and three thermal imaging channels. Images, received from the channels, are being joined together, thus forming single TV image and thermal image with angular size 30˚×120˚. Single image presents panoramic sight of front hemisphere on helicopter course. The system allows to highlight any object (or sight) of interest on panoramic video image by means of window function with electronic (non-kinematic) aiming and zoom, and overlay TV or thermal image with advanced tracking.

Very Large Area Cmos Active-Pixel Sensor For Digital Radiography
To address the growing demand for low-noise large- area digital-radiography sensors, a unique CMOS active-pixel sensor (APS) technology has been developed. Large-tiled CMOS radiographic panels can compete in performance with passive- pixel arrays, amorphous-silicon thin-film-transistor panels, and phosphor-panel technologies. Although CMOS sensors have be- come a key technology in low-cost consumer camera products, CMOS APS technology is also suited for manufacture of large- format imagers used to construct radiographic-detector panels. Applications include nondestructive testing, scientific imaging, security screening, and medical radiography.

Usage Of Cold Physical Plasma For The Field Radiating Cathode Forming On The Basis Of Carbon Fibers
Cathodoluminescent lamps are prospective sources of the artificial illumination. Competing with the light-emitting diode lamps on luminous efficiency they advantageously distinguish from them by the complete absence of toxic materials. Visible light emanates from them with the luminophore activated by the electron flow which was ejected from the field emission cathode.
